Artist Information

Susan Hill has been a professional fiber artist since 1976 and currently lives and maintains a studio in Kansas City, Missouri. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interior Design from Kansas State University in 1972.

Susan Hill exhibits in invitational shows across the country, as well as selected art fairs, including the Smithsonian Craft Fair in Washington D.C. and the Plaza Art Fair in Kansas City. Her work is in many private collections, including Temple B'nai Jehudah, American Airlines, North Kansas City Hospital and E.I duPont de Nemours. Hill has experience as a juror for many art fairs as well as other competitive exhibitions.

My inspiration and passion is nature, more specifically my garden. I relish all stages of a plant's life and the changes through the seasons. I draw from the colors, patterns and juxtaposing textures offered in nature. Using a variety of yarns in the hand woven tapestry, fabrics and stitching, I create form, texture and movement.?
