Scott Burns is an emeritus engineering professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He works in the areas of structural/mechanical design, numerical methods, and visualization.

This artwork is an outgrowth of research in visualization of numerical methods in engineering design and dynamical systems. He has been exhibiting his artwork at fine art fairs throughout the midwest for twenty years.
