Artist Bio:  Aletha is a long-time participant in the Lakefront Festival of the Arts.  While she has been recognized as an accomplished figurative painter working primarily in watercolor, this new body of abstract paintings and drawings takes her in an entirely new direction.  Aletha's paintings have received numerous awards at national competitions and exhibitions around the country, including the Watercolor USA National Competition (Missouri), the National Watercolor Society's Annual Exhibition (California), the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibition (Colorado), and the American Watercolor Society's Annual International Exhibition (New York).  In 2006, one of Aletha's paintings was selected as the poster image for the Lakefront Festival of Arts.  Milwaukee's Florentine Opera Company featured a series of Aletha's paintings as the promotional images for their 2007-2008 season.  In 2009 Aletha was also named guest curator for  the National Biennial Watercolor Invitational, "State of the Art 2009" at Parkland Art Gallery in Champaign, Illinois.
